We always love a good party! Inspired by one of our favorite Halloween books, No Such Things by Ella Bailey, we threw together a Halloween Ain’t Afraid of No Ghost Bash. We loved seeing our visitors get in on all the fun with their creative costumes! Plus customers who shopped at our store got the sweetest little Halloween manicure from Long Beach local Hey, Nice Nails! owners Donne & Ginney and bedazzled their very own witch party hat or pumpkins!. We also had spooktacular treats from Jessi Loves Sugar Cookies and Dipp N Chill.

We can’t forget about the show-stopping puppet performance from Hey Hey Entertainment. He kept the crowd laughing and cheering the whole way through!

Now onto our most favorite part of our annual Halloween party… the COSTUMES!!

Fashion Mamas presents Kids Fashion Fair

A little fashion and a lot of fun! Last Saturday August 3rd we popped up at Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach for the Kids Fashion Fair presented by Fashion Mamas. Hosted by Fashion Mamas founder, Natalie Alcala, designer Julia Vaughn, New York Times bestselling author and journalist Leslie Anne Bruce, mama to @zooeyinthecity and social media queen Mai Nguyen Miyoshi, Nikki Bostwick, from the Morning Matcha podcast and celebrity chef Nikki Martin the day was filled with cotton candy, face painting, story time and some of the coolest brands!

Our Vintage Hawaii Kawaii luau with Se Mari Handmade

Aloha friends! We’re so excited to finally share our blog on our biggest pop up to date! On June 9th we collaborated with Ellyn from Se Mari Handmade to throw such a special event. Ellyn is known for her adorable, retro and vintage-inspired kawaii fashion for kids. And what better way to celebrate her new designs than with a little vintage Hawaii Kawaii theme!

To make this popup come to life we worked with Francesca from 50 by 50 Event Design who truly cooked up some magic. Our Sweet Luau had a disco dance floor, tiki bar with the yummiest treats from Sugar Crush Sweets, cutest balloon decorations by Up Up in the Air and so much special, handmade Hawaiian decor from Francesca herself.

The day started off early as Se Mari’s customers eagerly waited way before opening to get their hands on one-of-a-kind, limited dresses. Her dresses were designed with vintage deadstock fabric that you can’t get anywhere else. Ellyn had made over 70 dresses and they all sold out within minutes of opening! Her fans traveled far and wide to not only snag up these dresses but to also meet Ellyn. While others were meeting and greeting, the kids got to enjoy some hula dancing on our Tutti Frutti disco dance floor and make sweet candy leis.

The day was just the absolute sweetest. We had so much fun putting this event together and thank everyone for coming to enjoy it with us. A special thanks to Ellyn, Francesca and her partners Up Up in The Air and Sugar Crush Sweets, Allison from @nathan_and_paige who captured all the memories and took all of these incredible photos, our swag bag partners (Parsy and the Date, Mochi Kids, Dainty Lox, Skyn Box, and Liboosha) and the Sweet Threads team for helping everything run so smoothly.

Now back to the drawing board for our next event! 🙂

Sweet Threads Costa Mesa Grand Opening

What’s better than one Sweet Threads? Two! We celebrated our grand opening of our brand new Costa Mesa store at The Lab Anti Mall on May 4th with our new neighbor, Prism Boutique.

To start the morning off our customers lined up early to score some sweet swag from brands: Tiny Whales, Mini Melissa, Sunnylife, Bunnies by the Bay, Angel Dear, Sass & Belle, Chronicle Books, Pleiades Designs, San Diego Hat and Wunderkin. They were so excited to get swag and see the new store with all the sweet custom decor by Lorem. We made sure to make the day extra special for our customers and mommies celebrating Mother’s Day with sweet treats from Sweet & Saucy and Cheeze Be With You and popups with Seaesta Surf and Rylee & Cru. We can’t forget about the amazing party decor by We Poppin and ball pit by Mesh Kids Co. When the kids were tired of playing in the ball pit, we had a special DIY Cactus Craft Station while mommies were doing the real deal and planting their own cacti right next door at Prism Boutique. To keep the memories alive from our grand opening our customers got to take home the cutest watercolored keepsake from Chasing Linen.

Our Valentine Event is back!! We will be hosting our fun-filled Valentine-themed extravaganza at Sweet Threads on Sunday, January 27th from 11am to 1pm. This year we are so excited to collaborate with lifestyle + portrait photographer, Lily Glass who has worked with some of our faves like Disney, Oh Joy and Kira Kids! Join us and get some fabulous portraits of your kiddo while you’re there! Then treat the kids to some of our fun valentine themed craft stations like DIY slime and jewelry bead making! There will also be a sweet treats bar with eatables and drinkables and Heart Balloons for our mini customers (one per child, while supplies last).

Halloween Carnivàle Costume Party 2018

It’s the sweetest season of the year and we celebrated with hosting our 4th annual Halloween Costume Party, Carnivàle style! It was a ticket of fun to feeling young with loads of cotton candy and mini corn dogs to carnival games and a tattoo booth! We even invited back last year’s caricature artist to capture all your show-stopping costumes!
