Paush SS16 “A Sweet Play Date”

Sometimes I find it hard to explain my vision into words. It’s even harder to explain to someone else so they can execute the vision, feeling and style that I dream up in my head.

However, that wasn’t the case this time. Her photographs always speak for themselves. I am proud to finally share with you the 1st delivery of our Paush Spring 16 Look Book, shot by my dear friend and photographer, Katie Ging.

Our official launch date for the 1st Spring delivery is Saturday, February 27 at 11 am PST, available in-store and online!! Mark those calendars!

Paush Spring/Summer 16 “A Sweet Play Date”, embraces the art of play and imagination and to remind us to treasure the sweet memories created with friends. We’re keeping the nostalgia alive with classic silhouettes and playful prints, while welcoming Spring with floral details and colorful embroideries. Life can not be measured by its year, but by the memories created and cherished. Your little ones are sure to have the sweetest childhood memories with Paush.

A huge thank you to our Mini Models, Sailor Richman and Peyton Poole! Let’s not forget their parents for taking the time out of their busy day to come play with us!

Forever Grateful to Katie Ging for always creating my vision beautifully.

millipy for sweet threads

We are so thrilled to announce our collaboration with local Mompreneur, Ana Estella from Millipy, a brand hand crafting and designing the cutest, whimsical accessory pieces for your little ones! Millipy is inspired by children and strive to represent the curiosity, energy and uniqueness that every child possesses. It’s no surprise that Millipy offers stand out pieces!

Sweet Threads had a fun time working on this project with Millipy designing playful crowns and bandana bibs! This collection is inspired by Sweet Threads‘ favorite shop colors and the start of Fall! Sweet touches of tribal woven textiles + Millipy prints were designed into the collection.

Save the date for August 16th for the drop of this exclusive Millipy for Sweet Threads Collection!  The collection will be made available at the Cerritos St. 1st Annual Block Party in Long Beach hosted by Threads Events.  They will also be made available online at www.shopsweetthreads.com August 17th.

A very special thanks to Katie Ging for always capturing the vision. The images are exactly what we expected; playful, whimsical and SWEET!

Meet Kylie Marco | Mini Stylist for Sweet Threads

ImageIntriguing, fashionable with a unique sense of style, a blogger, an actress, an artist and spreads cheerfulness all around her. These are words I use to describe a striking 12 year old girl I met at the Rose Bowl Flea Market earlier this year. She’s not your average 12 year old friends. Meet Kylie Marco from sunnysideky.blogspot.com.

Kylie first stepped into our booth at the Rose Bowl Flea Market earlier in February. She had the cutest vintage schoolgirl inspired ensemble, wearing adorable vintage round eyeglasses that were probably too big for her frame but seemed to work nicely and finished off her outfit with a big statement bow atop her head! I was intrigued and almost intimidated to approach her. When I finally got a chance to say hello she politely introduced herself and handed me her business card. Oh boy, was I pleasantly surprised by one, her sense of style and second, her professionalism from such a young gal. Then came the cherry on top. Kylie turns out to be a blogger! She’s just simply amazing. I’d continue to run into her at the local flea markets and she’ll even occasionally sell at her very own booth. She’ a mighty fine seller at that!

ImageSweet Threads had their upcoming Fall13 Look Book shoot to plan for and being that we like to promote and encourage children’s arts and creativity, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to invite Kylie to join the team as our mini stylist.

Boy were we lucky to have her come on board! Even with her busy Summer schedule with taking acting classes, cello and japanese lessons and keeping up with her blog, she was still able to squeeze some time to help Sweet Threads. See her in action below in photos taken by Katie Ging!

We had a chance to sit with Kylie and get to know her a little better. Check out what she has to say.

How did you come up with the blog title Sunny Side Ky?

“I thought about things that were happy, cheery and what came to mind were phrases such as “Sunny Side of the Street” or “Bright Side of the Mind”. That’s when I came up with ‘Sunny Side Kylie’.”

What made you want to start a blog?

“My dad pulled up a photo of Tavi Gevinson and said she has really good tatse. I asked my dad what a blog was. He mentioned you can design it a certain way and talked about how I could make a statement with it. I then thought of a starting a fashion blog as a way to express myself.”

Where does your love for vintage come from?

“Vintage is one of a kind and very unique. With a vintage piece, I knew no one else would be wearing it. I felt I could set a trend with my style.”

Dead or alive, who would you want to meet?

“Vincent Van Gough.”

Where do you see yourself in 10-20 years?

“Backstage at NY Fashion Week styling.”

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?

“Classical or broadway music. I like to listen to classical music especially when studying. I can recognize things better.”

Tell us your favorite quote and where you found it.

“I found my favorite quote on a Juice Box and it read ‘Be yourself, everybody else is taken’ ~ Fat Albert. “

Kylie is not your normal 7th grader. She wants to make statements and show others that you can express yourself any way you want.

Amazing, right? Such an inspiration! I have a big hunch this girl is going to do or be someone big. Just you wait and see.

Back to Old School

The weather has cooled down, stores are filling up with an abundance of school supplies and children are getting excited about shopping for new Back to School outfits. Here at Sweet Threads, we are too. Our A/W 13 Look Book takes a twist with mixing vintage and modern children’s fashion pieces taking it Back to Old School.

Sweet Threads had the pleasure of working with the talented photographer, Katie Ging and had the sweetest treat of having Kylie Marco from Sunny Side Kylie to style the shoot. Not to mention, our mini models Ruby Lu, Hudson, Olivia and Bobby did a fantabulous job smiling for the camera! We are so thrilled at how incredible the images turned out and we couldn’t have done it without teamwork! So a BIG THANK YOU to the team. You all did an amazing job!

– A special blog will be coming up soon dedicated to our mini stylist, Kylie so stay tuned! You won’t want to miss it!
